After Blake Russell competed for the U.S. in 2008 Beijing Olympics her life changed drastically. In 2009, she gave birth to Quin and the already active Russell household in Pacific Grove turned it up a notch. Russell is now back in training, hoping to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics while making an Olympian effort to be a good wife and mother.

When time stands still
Even if I am not in marathon training I hardly run less than 2 hours on a Sunday. In fact this past Sunday was one of my longer runs at 22 miles. While I was running in the former Fort Ord, I passed some mountain bikers and said, “Good morning.” I then realized that it was just past noon. I had started running at 9:30, and it felt like time stood still.

That is amazing!! I am 42 and will run my first 1/2 marathon March 20th. I have to get to that point in my training mentally. We will be moving to Monterey in July. I'm looking forward to keeping up my running. You are such an inspiration. Thank you.
